We started in 1960 as a small community bank in Morton, just down the road and we have been a part of the Bloomington-Normal family for decades, working with farmers, businesses and people to bring true community banking to the Twin Cities. In 2012, due to local demand, we opened a Loan Office in Bloomington at 2401 East Empire.
This year, again due to local demand, we expanded that Loan Office into a Full Service Bank.
Along with that expansion to a Full Service Bank, it was necessary to find a new, larger home...a home easy to find, easy to access, and easy to recognize. We settled on an empty building at 2807 East Empire, very near the Central Illinois Regional Airport and just west of the Prairie Aviation Museum.
Backed by the strength of Morton Community Bank, with assets over $3 Billion, we are large enough to handle nearly any personal or commercial requirments. But, we never forget our roots. We never forget who we are...or who you are.
Of course what really makes a Hometown Community Bank is not the location. It's the people! And it is important to know that our bank, and all of the Hometown Community Banks, are employee owned. You should also know a lot of us have close ties to the community. Many of the bank's employees live in Bloomington or Normal, and even more of us attended Illinois State University or Illinois Wesleyan University. We have roots in the community which go back decades.
