| The Peace Garden at Eureka College commemorates the beginning of the end of the Cold War, a historic event generally accepted to have occurred in 1982 during a speech made at Eureka College by President Ronald Reagan, a graduate of Eureka College. The words spoken by the Reagan which sparked the beginning of the end of the Cold War are engraved on the stone base supporting a bust of the President. A large section of the Berlin Wall also is located in the garden. | |
