| Lake Eureka is a man made lake constructed in the 1930's. The 40 acre lake is surrounded by a park and over the years has been used recreational purposes and as a drinking water reservoir for the city. For a time in the 1960's the lake had a beach and a swimming area, complete with bath house. The bath house was unique in the fact that while it was a permanent block structure with offices, plumbing, showers, and changing rooms, only the center office area was covered by a roof. The changing rooms were roofless, and open to the sky. | |
