| The Administration Building at Eureka College was renamed in honor of Burrus Dickinsen, president of the college during the period which included World War 2. The Dickinsen family played a large part in the history of Eureka and at one time owned the local canning factory. Burrus Dickinsen also owned and published the Woodford County Journal and Roanoke Review for many years. Among his more unusual legacies was the bequeathal of funds in will to the City of Eureka for the purpose of building sidewalks. | |
