The trust of our customers and potential customers is a most valuable asset and one reason we are in business.  This trust is built, in part, upon the proper handling of your personal information.  Protecting your privacy is important to Winter Insurance and our employees.  We want you to understand what information we collect and how we use and protect it.   Winter Insurance protects the privacy of all customers personal and business customers.

Information We Collect

We may collect “nonpublic personal information” about you from the following sources:

“Nonpublic personal information” is nonpublic information about you that we obtain in connection with providing a financial product or service to you.  For example, nonpublic personal information includes information regarding your medical information, driving record, or claim history.

We are permitted under law to share information about our experiences or transactions with you or your account (such as your account balance and payment history with us) within our family of companies.  We may also share additional information about you or your account (such as information we receive from you in applications or information we receive from credit reporting agencies) with our family of companies.  You may direct us not to disclose within our family of companies information which does not relate solely to our or our affiliates’ experiences or transactions with you or your account (such as information provided by you on an application and/or credit bureau information) by calling Geraldine Winter at 699-3938.

 

We are also permitted by law to disclose nonpublic personal information about you to nonaffiliated third parties.  We communicate with nonaffiliated third parties in order to provide you with quality financial products.  We may disclose information about you to non-affiliated third parties that assist us in servicing or maintaining your  account.  Winter Insurance takes the utmost care in selecting third party service providers.  These service providers may not reuse your information in any manner.     We also report information as required by the government, such as responding to subpoenas and the Internal Revenue Service; and to credit reporting agencies.  We do not disclose any other nonpublic personal information about you to any other third parties, except as permitted by law.  We do not disclose any non-public personal information about you to companies who perform marketing services.

 

If you decide to close your account(s) or become an inactive customer, we will continue to adhere to the privacy policies and practices described in this notice.

 

Confidentiality of Medical Information

We understand you may be especially concerned about the privacy of your medical information.  We want to assure you that we will not disclose your personally identifiable medical information for marketing purposes.  We only use and share personally identifiable medical information for purposes of underwriting insurance, administering your policy or claim, and other purposes permitted by law, such as disclosures to insurance regulatory authorities, or in response to a legal process.

 

Internal Security Procedures

Winter Insurance limits access to your information to employees who need to know that information in order to provide products and services to you.  We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with federal and state standards to protect your nonpublic personal information.
